What it is

A web app from MALYOMAR with short, game-style engineering challenges. Every game is grounded in ASME B31.3, the code that governs the world's most critical process piping systems.

You play in the browser. Some games simulate a technical situation, some test code compliance against the clock, and some are lighter: a quiz, a salary benchmark, a leaderboard. The Playground has its own sections for games, a library, workshops and your stats.

It is our interactive portal designed to give engineers a space to test their skills, engage with practical challenges, and learn through hands-on technical simulation.
From MALYOMAR's frequently asked questions

Learn. Practice. Decide.

The Playground is the second step of four. On its own it is a game. Between a course and a workshop it is how you find out whether the course stuck.

Learn

Courses

Learn the engineering principles and the code with an instructor who applies them.

Practice

Engineering Playground

Test your knowledge against scenarios and a clock, as often as you like.

Decide

Simulation and workshop

Make engineering decisions on a full unit, with other disciplines reviewing them.

Apply

Industrial application

Transfer the learning to your own project, with the judgment to defend your choices.

Games you can play today

Six games are active. Difficulty and category are the Playground's own labels; the one-line descriptions are ours.

Announced for phase 2

Dynamic Structural Stress Sim

Offshore Rig Maintenance VR

Procurement Management Tycoon

Coming

These three are named on the Playground as phase 2. No release dates have been published.

How games connect to courses

Each game practises something a course teaches. In the new platform the two are linked both ways: a course page shows the games to try afterwards, and a game result suggests the course that closes the gap.

Proposed mapping
GameWhat it practisesCourse that teaches it
The mapping is a proposal for review by the instructors. The Playground does not publish one today.

Before a course

Play a compliance game to see your starting level. It tells you whether to begin with a foundation course or go straight to the code course.

During a course

Instructors can set a game as practice between sessions and review the common mistakes the next day.

After a course

Come back a month later. If the score has dropped, the learner portal suggests which topics to revisit.

In the learner portal, game results feed course recommendations on your learning path. See the learner path view

Start with the course behind the games

All active games draw on ASME B31.3. These courses teach it, from first components to the full code.
